School District expects to meet expenses

From The Whig

"We've got our fingers crossed," Chairman Bill Daniels said after a Finance Committee meeting Tuesday.
Now there's a great business plan, cross your fingers WTF!!!!

In May, the district transferred $1.55 million from the working cash fund to the education fund. The transfer will go before the board tonight for approval.
So you transfer the money then you ask for approval sounds a little backwards again WTF!!

Approximately $800,000 is on hand for the work, but the rest will require a short-term loan. The district proposes borrowing $2.96 million for the projects that include sandblasting and repainting the walls in the Quincy High School gym, replacing the roof at Quincy Junior High, replacing the roof and air handlers at the Early Childhood Center and resurfacing the parking lot at Flinn Stadium. The loan would be repaid Dec. 1, 2008, with its 2007 levy.
Suggestions: Put off the sandblasting and panting of the walls inside the gym until you have the money to do it.
Is the roof leaking at Junior High? Can It be patched or repaired instead of replaced?
Will replacing the roof air handlers save on utilities? are they not working now?
Can the parking lot at Flinn Stadium be patched or repaired instead of replaced? I'll drive out there and see how bad it is....
Questions that should be asked but nobody including myself will take the time to go to a school board meeting.
By the way what happened to the company that was going to save the schools all of this money on their utilities?

Loose the "Ticketmaster" type the hieroglyphics through barbed wire exercise, we're not buying Rush or The Police tickets. Who do you think you are, Rodney Funion?

Just kidding, I think you will get more posters without it! Welcome to the B-sphere!

Let me know when they are panting the gym. Could be good theater.

They got a job at city hall sucking the taxpayers dollars from another direction.

Thanks for the link, but an FYI: I don't think Fire is better than any other Blog out there. We all just have different interests and different views.

I have returned the favor.

Welcome and I look forward to reading your blog.

Thanks.

First time on blog. Am sure this will not reach The Fleecing of Quincy. Not computer-wise. Be that as it may, don't let the school board fool you they can't use the "sequestered" tort fund's for salaries. Request under Freedom of Information Act for a copy of school district's 2008 "official" budget and you will discover they already spent the $4.5 million of tort funds on salaries. Financially-incompetent Herb Jackson and Ed Fletcher were replaced with financially-incompetent Glenn Bemis and Jeff Mays. Bemis and Mays want to borrow with interest $4.5 million for salaries when the jerks have a $4.5 million surplus in the Tort Fund for salaries.
